A Month of Firsts

August was a month of firsts for our family. I know this post is a little late which isn't a first for me but I didn't want to skip August.

Allie's Firsts: Allie is now in Kindergarten and was so excited for her FIRST day of school (if you can't tell). I don't think she stopped smiling the entire day.
Connor's Firsts: Connor was born with a trigger thumb (couldn't straighten his thumb). The doctor said the only way to fix it was surgery and the sooner the better so his thumb would grow correctly. So, off to the surgical center we went for Connor's FIRST surgery. Usually they don't knock you out for it but little kids they do.
This is before the surgery. Can you see his bent thumb in the picture above. We tried to comfort him the best we could by dressing him in his favorite Lightening McQueen pj's and letting him bring his favorite toy car, Lightening McQueen - of course. I guess it would be safe to say that Lightening McQueen is Connor's FIRST obsession!

They put him into this wagon to take him away from his parents. He thought he was going for a ride. Little did he know.
Connor after the surgery. Poor little guy. I don't think the toy snake they gave him was helping.

On a happy note, Connor is now enjoying is FIRST big boy bed. His parents on the other hand, are not enjoying it. If only Connor would never have started climbing out of his crib, he would still be sleeping in it, and Mom and Dad would also be sleeping much better.

Brinley's Firsts: Brinley is sitting up on her own for the FIRST time. She is also army crawling everywhere and really on the go.
Brinley took her FIRST bite of solids in August. She is having a harder time adjusting to the stuff more then my other two but she'll get it. In the mean time we are loving watching her try.
While Allie was at school, I took this picture. It was our FIRST day just the three of us.
