Santa

Allie and I went with Aunt Megan and cousin Quinn to see Santa at the mall. Quinn loved Santa but Allie wasn't real sure about him. She did a lot better then last year though!!
Allie and cousin Logan last year with Santa.
The mall strategically set up an awesome looking train for the kids around Santa just in case you didn't spend enough money in the first place. Allie loved the train ride and she probably would have been content just riding the train instead of seeing Santa.

Genes

Well, Kelli and I made our way over to the doctor's office this week for the ultrasound! Drum roll, please! See the image below for the gender of the baby!

When I saw this shot, I thought it was a girl and that she'd inherited Kelli's biceps!! But, after a few more shots, it became very clear that we were going to have a boy! It also became very clear that our little fella is either a rootin' tootin' steer wrestler in the making or else Kelli drank a little too much lemonade before the ultrasound. Either way, he's one active baby! After probably ten minutes of trying over and over to get a shot of where his umbilical cord attaches to his stomach, I thought the ultrasound technician was going to jam that ultrasound wand right through Kelli's abdomen in an attempt to roll the baby around. Kelli was a trooper and finally Baby gave in and gave us the shot we needed.

Well, as you can imagine, we are thrilled about having a boy. We hadn't really made up our minds about the gender, but I think we both had a feeling that he was a boy. He will be only the second male inheritor of the Andersen name among all of his second cousins. Needless to say, he'll have more girl advice from his cousins and second-cousins and sister(s?) than he probably will ever want!

NEVER TURN YOUR BACK ON A 2 YEAR OLD!!

I guess Allie felt her skin was a little dry. She found a tub of thick creamy lotion.

The pictures don't do the destruction justice. Allie has been very creative with her messes lately. We have reached a new level in child-proofing our home but still our defenses have been penetrated. Hopefully this stage won't last forever!
